Telephone Interview

You may be invited to take part in a short telephone interview. We consider these to be a great way to get to know each other and can be used to give you more understanding of the role and any technical skills that are needed.

 

Interviews

We are a diverse group of people from various backgrounds, but have shared values that will be explored further when we meet you.

We like to bring out the best in all we meet and will have an open and transparent conversation to understand you and your skills, behaviours and values and understand how they will meet the needs of the specific job we're interviewing you for and your future career aspirations. It is worth thinking about what makes you ideal for the role so that you have some great examples of how you can demonstrate your skills.

It's important we get any appointment right, but we do understand it's equally important for you to join an employer who can offer you a great working environment, excellent benefits package, work life balance and that is transparent and shares with you a realistic expectation of who we are. Assessments

We do assess in various ways as we feel this helps us get a good understanding of the skills we need - these are specific to the role you are applying for and allows all applicants to showcase their skills. If you are shortlisted for a hands on role, such as a Craft Operative, we will allow you to demonstrate your expertise with a practical test. If the role is business support or Management, we may ask you to do an appropriate academic test. Whatever we do require, please don't worry, all will be explained to you prior to you visiting us and reasonable adjustments are offered to those who require it.

 

Induction

We are committed to welcoming you into Nottingham City Homes and will complete a Corporate Induction session with you during your first week. This will provide you with an overview of our business and an understanding of what all the different teams do. They are a great way to meet other new starters and an insight into social housing.

We actively encourage our employees to develop through our organisation, and your manager will discuss this with you to put you on the path to success.
