Access to information

We provide a service to the public on behalf of Nottingham City Council.

Recent Acts of Parliament such the Data Protection Act 1998, and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) make it possible for members of the public to request information held by public authorities such as councils and Arms Length Management Organisations. We are required to disclose, on request in writing and subject to availability, information held for Nottingham City Council on the services of the company.

The information that can be requested by these acts is different and is outlined in this section of our internet site.

Exemptions

There are exemptions to getting information and these are as follows:

• we do not have the information
• the information is exempt under a FOI exemption or Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) or prohibited under another statute
• the information is out of date
• it would not be practical to or too resource intensive to provide the information

Timescales

We will respond to your requests within the following timescales:

• Data Protection - 40 consecutive days from receipt of your fee and authority to provide information
• Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations - 20 working days from receipt of your request
