Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives members of the public the right to access certain non-personal information held by public bodies.

Under this act, we must make a Publication Scheme available to our customers. We have decided to use the Model Publication Scheme as approved by the Information Commissioner's Office as it has standardised features. More about publication schemes can be found on the Information Commissioner's website.

What can I ask for under this act?

  • Information about the company
  • You can also ask for someone else to get information for you as long as you provide written consent.

What can't I ask for?

  • Information about individual people. This is covered by the Data Protection Act 1998.
  • Information where exemptions apply. Most of these exemptions are subject to a test made by the Governance Team. For example, we may have to decide whether it is in the public interest to withhold the information.
