Be a Board Member and help us build a build a bright future

We are looking for four new Board Members to help make the key decisions that determine the future of our company.

Being a Board Member is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management of a £120m a year business. There are two Tenant Board Member positions in which tenants are invited to stand for election and are voted in by their fellow tenants and leaseholders. The other two vacancies are for Independent Board Members, who will go through a robust recruitment process.

Board Members act as non-executive directors of Nottingham City Homes. Together they make key decisions about budgets, services, strategies and policies. Although it is an unpaid role, being a Tenant or Independent Board Member is rewarding and vital to the smooth running of the company.

The role will require a level of time and commitment. From attending Board meetings and the AGM, to sitting on sub-committees and forums, Board Members get involved and help drive forward a number of events and activities throughout the year.

Chief Executive of Nottingham City Homes, Chris Langstaff, said:

Five of our 12 Board members are tenants. By holding elections, it gives our customers the power to shape their services and drive the work we do. Electing Board members brings new faces and new ideas – helping us realise our vision of creating homes and places where people want to live.

We are now a ‘two star’ organisation with ‘excellent prospects for improvement’. We aim to become a three star company and it is vital our new Board Members provide the insight, expertise and foresight to reach this target.
