Get involved with us and make a difference

Nottingham City Homes’ Get Involved Week is back with more chances for tenants and leaseholders to sign up, have their say and shape our services.

Last year’s successful week of events saw more than 150 tenants and leaseholders who hadn’t previously been involved, ‘Get Involved’. Get Involved Week will take place this year from Monday 27 July to Sunday 2 August.

What’s on?

  • We will join the Nottingham Pride event, taking place on Saturday 25 July at the Arboretum
  • We'll be holding a fun day on the Forest Recreational Ground on 27th July. Tenants and leaseholders will be able to find out more about getting involved with all our services. This event will also stage the launch of a new partnership with Nottingham Forest and Keepmoat to provide mobile football coaching for children and young people on our estates. Come and join us and have some fun.
  • We  have a stand at the Riverside Festival, which takes place this year from Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August 2009
  • We will visit each of the major markets in the city across the week.

Some of our sheltered schemes and housing offices will also be holding their own events so look out for what is happening in your area.

What is Getting Involved?

Tenants and leaseholders don’t have to join a formal meeting to have their say. There are lots more ways to get involved like:

  • Filling in a survey from home as part of the Home Panel
  • Taking part in regular forums and customer panels
  • Being a mystery shopper to test our customer service
  • Being a member of your local Area Panel
  • Joining your local Tenants and Residents Association (TRA)
  • Being a Tenant Services Inspectors (TSI).

Tenant Services Inspectors visit our estates scoring them and looking out for problems like litter, graffiti, anti-social behaviour and conditions of properties and gardens. They report back on problems and either our teams, or those at the city council and the police, will take action to fixthem.

We are particularly encouraging young people and members of the Black Minority and Ethnic community to get involved. We want to know how our services affect all sections of the community and what we can do to improve them for everyone.
