Volunteering opportunities at National Self-harm Network in Nottingham

The National Self-harm Network is about to launch a brand new national freephone helpline supporting those who self harm, their friends, family and carers.

We are funded by the Department of Health under the Opportunities for Volunteering scheme.

We are looking for volunteers with an empathetic ear to help us run the helpline which is based in Nottingham City Centre. Full training will be given and volunteers will be supported throughout and after their work. Initially, the helpline will run 7pm-11pm every night, so we would ideally like volunteers to work one shift every week.

We are also looking for volunteer peer supervisors with more relevant experience to take on a bigger role in the helpline.

If you think you have what it takes to be a supportive listener to someone who is in crisis and have some time to spare, why not give the NSHN a call on 0115 852 4027.
