Getting on top of your Money Matters

Nottingham’s council tenants can find out more about saving money, beating debt, cutting bills and much more at this year’s Money Matters Road Show.

This annual FREE event brings more than fifty organisations under one roof to give visitors the chance to get all the money advice they need, in one place.

It will take place at the Council House, Market Square, Nottingham, on Wednesday 14th April from 10am to 3pm.

A number of organisations will be on hand to help visitors, including the Citizens Advice Bureau, Pension Service, Age Concern, Job Centre Plus and the Nottingham Credit Union. Our Financial Inclusion Officers will also be available to offer free help and advice.

At the event visitors will not only get free help and advice, there are also refreshments available and goodies and freebies to take away.

The event forms part of a city-wide Rents campaign designed to offer free help and support to those who are struggling to pay their rent.

Keep a look out over the next few weeks for adverts on city buses and a brand new issue of our Money Matters magazine, which tenants and leaseholders will receive through the post with their April newsletter. It includes:

  • Advice and guidance on benefits
  • The benefits of paying by Direct Debit
  • What the Nottingham Credit Union can do for you
  • Top tips on cutting your energy bills
  • Advice on protecting yourself against ID theft and dodgy salesmen
  • Getting back into employment.
