Brightening up Bulwell with buckets of blooms
A dedicated team of residents will unveil their brand new flower displays on Thursday (10th June) after months of hard work to brighten up a shopping area on Rufford Walk in Bulwell.
The Rufford Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) has worked really hard to tidy up the neighbourhood, which has included work to brighten up the Rufford Walk Shops.
The TRA called on the Nottingham in Bloom and City Services (Street Scene) teams at Nottingham City Council in December 2009 for their help.
Nottingham in Bloom has donated some planters, troughs, flowers and plants to help complete the transformation. The TRA also got a grant from the 'One Vision' partnership to purchase more planters and hanging baskets and have had kind donations from local councillors. Rufford TRA is participating in the East Midlands in Bloom ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ awards for the second time this year after achieving a Certificate of Merit in 2009.
Members of the TRA will be joined on Thursday by school children from Rufford Infant and Junior School to help them unveil the new-look Rufford Walk shops.
Photographers and reporters are invited to attend.
