Make your community's case in the Dragons' Den!

Residents of Nottingham city's estates can get their hands on up to £5,000 to improve their community - but first they have to get past the Dragons' Den!

A range of groups can put forward their bid for funding, from Tenants and Residents Associations, to Neighbourhood Watch groups, Scouts, Brownies and Cubs and local schools.

We want to hear what people are doing in their local community, and what they would do with the funding if they were successful.

If a project is shortlisted, members of the group will be pitching their idea to a panel of judges, just like BBC1's 'Dragons’ Den'. But our 'dragons' are not looking for profit or an equity stake, they are looking for a positive impact on the local community.

Those who are interested can apply by sending us an outline of their proposal, which must include:

  • Title/name and description of idea
  • Aims and objectives of the project
  • Commitment to the project to far
  • Who will benefit from your idea? Specific services or groups?
  • Timescale for implementation
  • An idea of cost implications.

It should be no more than four sides of A4 paper and submitted to:

Secure Warm Modern Team
Beechdale Court
Beechdale Road
Nottingham
NG8 3LH.

All applications must be in by Friday 22nd October 2010. We will review each proposal and if you are short-listed, we will invite you to pitch your idea to a panel of judges on Friday 5th November 2010.
