Housing workshop at SPS (SPS release)
The local community can learn more about social and private housing at an advice event to be held on Wednesday 30th March at 6pm.
The housing workshop has been organised by The Signpost to Polish Success (SPS), Routes HLG, Nottingham City Homes, Notts Housing Advice and is an example of a collaborative approach to support vulnerable communities in accessing locally available services and organisations.
At the event there will be presentations that cover issues such as:
- social and private tenants rights and obligations
- landlords responsibilities
- different types of tenancies
- repairs - who is responsible, where to report
- sharing accommodation
- applying for social housing
- organisations providing advice on housing issues, etc.
Dr Beata Polanowska, the SPS project co-ordinator, said:
SPS is delighted to be able to organise events that can benefit the most vulnerable members of our community.
The event is open for all members of the community.
The Signpost to Polish Success (SPS) is a charity that supports Polish and other Eastern European migrants as they settle in the UK. The Housing Event is part of a wider programme of workshops and other activities that aim to raise awareness within the New and Emerging Communities about British society, law, institutions and procedures, etc. SPS is able to provide its services thanks to a BIG Lottery grant.
