Top team work secures award for Secure Warm Modern (NCH release)

Nottingham's Secure Warm Modern team was named Team of the Year at last week's TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) Awards.

Nottingham City Homes (NCH) and Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) East Midlands picked up the award for their outstanding team work in transforming homes and communities across Nottingham.

Work started on the Secure Warm Modern programme in April 2008. Since then thousands of new kitchens, bathrooms, heating systems and secure by design windows and doors have been fitted across the city.

As one of NCH's key partners, FHM is fitting kitchens and bathrooms as part of the 'modern' improvement team. Their work goes beyond bringing homes up to modern standards. The community regeneration specialist is committed to growing employment opportunities, providing new skills and developing a sense of pride in a neighbourhood.

The TPAS Awards recognise and celebrate social landlords and their partners who go the extra mile to develop innovative and pioneering schemes that make communities safer and more desirable places to live.

Mark Johnson, Director of Property Services at Nottingham City Homes, said:

The Secure Warm Modern team really has achieved such a lot over the past three years and I am proud of everything they have done. The programme is not only efficient, it has customer care at its heart.

I am always incredibly proud of the team, but getting such a prestigious award for what they do is a real boost and the recognition they deserve.

FHM nominated its work with NCH for the Team of the Year title. It marks the positive working relationship and achievements since the Secure Warm Modern programme started.

Martin Smithurst, Managing Director for FHM, said:

Since we started working with NCH we have developed an excellent working relationship with staff and tenants. As a result we have formed a strong alliance based around the shared goal of improving their communities.

I'm delighted the judges have recognised that we have created a solid partnering ethos, are achieving our objectives and are successfully improving homes and the wider community.

TPAS Chief Executive, Michelle Reid, said:

It is really important that such excellence is recognised and celebrated nationally. I would like to congratulate everyone involved and wish the winners the best of luck at the national final in July.

As a winner in the central region, FHM and NCH will now go through to the national final of the TPAS Awards due to be held at the TPAS Conference on 28th July.
