Brand new apprentices join NCH ranks (NCH release)
Fourteen local people have joined Nottingham City Homes as part of this year's business administration apprenticeship scheme.
We have always been committed to providing apprenticeships to help individuals train for valuable qualifications, while getting into work.
Our award-winning schemes have been recognised at a national level - and placed us in this year's nationwide Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list for 2011.
Chief Executive Nick Murphy said:
With such high unemployment levels across the country, we are delighted to still be able to continue our programme of apprenticeships, and give more local people employment and training opportunities.
Nearly 300 people applied for the 14 positions, and were put through a rigorous selection process. The successful candidates were selected based on their skills and dedication to study - but most importantly their positive and enthusiastic attitudes.
Each apprentice will complete an Apprenticeship level 2 or 3 in Business Administration. They will work in two six month placements across a wide range of our services.
Nick Murphy added:
We are committed to creating homes and places where people want to live - and that is not just about bricks and mortar. Creating employment opportunities and developing the skills of local people is essential to building sustainable communities.
