Joining the waiting list

Joining the waiting list

If you want to join the housing register – the waiting list for an NCH home - you’ll need to complete a HomeLink registration form.

You can complete the online form here or get one from your nearest housing office.

You can join the waiting list if you’re eligible for social housing within the law, you’ve lived in Nottingham for three out of the last five years and you’re 18 or older. When you join, you’ll be put into one of five bands – we’ll tell you which band you’re in. People who need a home urgently are put into band one, and the least urgent cases go into band five.

You won’t be able to apply to join the list if you have a history or record of unacceptable behaviour, or you’re a home owner or have financial interest in a home, or if you’re already living somewhere that suits your needs, or if you’re not currently available to live in one of our properties – for example, you’re in prison.

If we decide that you can’t join the waiting list, you have the right to ask us to review our decision.
