We're committed to helping those of you who are looking for work, to find work. Everyone has different aspirations and goals in terms of where they'd like to be in the world of work. We want to help you to get to where you want to be as part of our package of employment support and training options. Employment Support Programme

Our Employment Support Programme, aims to provide a variety of opportunities that can support you into employment. We know that not everyone is at the same stage in their journey to employment. That's why we offer a wide range of support programmes tailored to your individual needs.

Next Steps Programme

We work with Nottingham Jobs to support residents who are looking for work opportunities or training options to improve their skills and employability chances. This can include:      

  • help with CV writing      
  • applying for jobs
  • support with completing application forms   
  • signposting to job opportunities      
  • advice on training options and courses that are available locally

Work experience

We offer valuable work experience placements to those living within the Nottingham City boundaries and seeking employment. Our work experience placement opportunities are not age restricted and are ideal for residents who would like to development their employment skills.

Construction traineeship

Our construction traineeship programme has been designed to provide support for unemployed 16-24 year olds in order to support them into an apprenticeship. Traineeships last a minimum of 12 weeks and are a mixture of classroom based learning and work experience placements. Tenant Academy

Our Tenant Academy offers a variety of training opportunities to help provide you with the necessary employment skills. These include accredited qualifications as well as one off courses. 

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is a real job with training. You can earn while you learn and pick up recognised qualifications as you go. An apprenticeship with Nottingham City Homes is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills for a long and successful career.

My Work Search

We can also set you up on My Work Search, an online system to help you find a job that reports through to JobCentre Plus's work search system and shows that you're looking for a job.
