Social media
Facebook and Twitter. Myspace and Blogger. YouTube and Flickr.
These are all examples of social media. There are lots of others too.
Social media refers to web-based and mobile technologies which make communication interactive. This means you can contact other people and share your chats, pictures and video as well as lots of other things!
At Nottingham City Homes we use both Facebook and Twitter. We use it to post information which may be of interest to you such as tenant meetings, news about what's happening in your area or the latest news from Nottingham City Homes. You can join in and comment on our posts as well.
What we like about Facebook is that you, and us, can have a two-way conversation. You can tell us what you think about our services, ask us a question, or make a suggestion and we can come back to you with a response. All on the same page! Go to Facebook Then search for 'Nottigham City Homes involvement' and click on the 'Like' button. You can then put your comments on our 'wall'.
Twitter is a bit more like sending a text. You get 140 characters to say something and 'tweet' it to people you are following. If you find a good post, you may want to send it out to your followers too. That's called 'retweeting'. Follow us on Twitter
If you're a community group or a tenant and resident association with a website, let us promote your group and activities by sending us a link to your homepage.
With all this, we need some rules guidelines to make sure we are acting appropriately. Please take a look at them before you post anything.
