High-rise blocks of flats

This term refers to a block of flats that has more than five storeys to it, including the ground floor. We provide a specific service to all our tenants who live in these blocks of flats.

Daily duties (every weekday between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday)

  • Foyer and ground floor corridors swept, mopped and vacuumed where appropriate
  • Foyer windows spot wiped
  • Lifts swept and mopped
  • All chute rooms checked and chutes unblocked
  • All floors and stairways checked, litter removed, spillages spot mopped and any stains wiped away
  • Bulk rubbish removed or made safe
  • All waste bins emptied
  • All bins rotated
  • Any repair issues checked for and reported
  • Offensive graffiti removed within 24 hours, all other graffiti removed within five working days.

Weekly duties

  • Stairs, railings and banisters swept and washed
  • Notice boards and pictures in foyer areas dusted
  • Scuff marks removed from walls in stairwells
  • Clean walls, doors and switches, wash mirrors in lifts
  • Corridors mopped and swept
  • Chute rooms swept, mopped and cleaned
  • Window ledges and sills wiped
  • Light fittings wiped
  • Internal glazing and ledges wiped.

Twice weekly

  • Parking areas swept and litter picked
  • Grassed and shrub areas litter picked and refuse removed.

Other duties

  • All internal windows cleaned every 8 weeks
  • All light fittings washed every 8 weeks
  • Lift doors, door panels and frames washed every 8 weeks
  • Corridor walls washed down every six months
  • All floors stripped and re-covered annually
  • Carpets and mats shampood (where appropriate) annually
  • Assistance with fire risk assessments annually.
