Demolition and relocation
Over the last year, we've been working hard to improve your neighbourhoods and this includes making decisions about the future of our older homes.
Many buildings put up in the 1960s and 1970s are becoming increasingly expensive to maintain and would need a massive amount of money to be fit for another 30 years. We would need to spend more on upgrading them than we get back in the rent we receive.
Because we want our homes to stand for a long time, we are starting a process of demolishing more than 900 properties over the next five years - and we're helping those affected find new homes. If your home is being either demolished or improved, don't forget to read our 'Relocation' leaflets.
It will be some time before we demolish and rebuild in some areas. As a reminder, this is what we are planning where you live:
Lenton, Digby, Abbey, Willoughby and Newgate Court high-rise flats
