Digital TV installation

Flats like yours will shortly be installed with a new satellite compatible communal aerial system.

This means that your whole block will receive TV, Satellite, FM and DAB signals from a single communal aerial and satellite rig.

Nottingham City Homes, in conjunction with our partners Commercial Television Systems, will install a master outlet into your front room to provide all these signals. You will have access to a range of digital services including Freesat, DAB Radio and Freeview (where available) as well as Freesat from Sky and Sky Subscription services, if you decide to take out a contract with them.

What will be installed?

A new combination socket will be installed. An image showing what each part of it does will be on this site shortly.

When will the installation be done?

Why are we doing this work?

The analogue signal which currently provides your television reception will be switched off in 2011. The only way you will be able to watch TV after this date will be via a digital connection through either a set top box, an integrated TV set, satellite receiver or a cable TV receiver.

You will not need to buy a new TV or set top box straight away - you can continue to use your current equipment until the switchover date. The new equipment will be able to provide analogue services until then.

Almost all TVs can be converted to digital with a digital box - even black and white ones!
