Breaking the conditions of your tenancy

We take it very seriously when tenants do not keep to the conditions set out in the tenancy agreement.

All our tenants have the right to be treated reasonably and must be condsiderate to their neighbours.

You will be breaking your tenancy conditions if you let people who live in your home, or visitors of any age including children, cause, any form of anti-social behaviour.

This includes:

  • non-payment of rent whether it is covered by housing benefit or not
  • noise nuisance
  • racial or other harassment
  • burglary and theft
  • threats and intimidation
  • allowing your home to be used for immoral purposes (prostitution and similar activities)
  • allowing your home to be used for the supply or use of drugs of any kind including cannabis

We will take action against you in all these cases. The action we take could end up with you losing your home.

If you want to discuss this in more detail, please contact your housing patch manager at your area housing office.
