Changes to your tenancy

If your circumstances change, we may need to know.

This is because the changes may affect the amount of rent you have to pay or you may start to get rent arrears. The changes may also mean that your home may no longer be appropriate for your needs. Some changes to your circumstance are:

  • you want to become a joint tenant or a joint tenant leaves your home
  • you need a bigger or smaller property because of changes in the number of people living in your home
  • the joint or sole tenant dies
  • you want to exchange your property with someone else's
  • you want to let any part of your house out
  • you go into hospital and can't go back to living in your home
  • you find a job when you were not working or you have recently become unemployed
  • you want to end your tenancy
  • you want to buy your home.

This is not a complete list of changes - your tenancy agreement will tell you more.
