Nottingham City Homes (NCH) is holding a series of fundraising events throughout May in support of Mental Health Awareness Week 2016, which runs from 16 to 22 May.
All funds raised during the month will be donated to the Friends of Nottingham Mental Health, NCH’s chosen charity of the year.
Setting the bar for colleagues is Tom Hall, who works as a plasterer for Nottingham City Homes. Tom is planning to undertake the mammoth challenge of cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats. Tom, aged 64, has worked for Nottingham City Homes for 13 years and is a keen cyclist.
He comments: “I’ve wanted to challenge myself to do something on this scale for a while now and it just seemed this was a good opportunity to raise awareness of a great local charity and hopefully raise some money for them at the same time. I’m working hard to build up my endurance and am really looking forward to starting the ride.”
Tom, who has already reached nearly £1,000 in sponsorship from colleagues and friends will be setting off from Lands End on 14 May. He hopes to complete the 1,000 mile route within ten days.
