More than 1.5m households across the country rely on council housing. And yet the pressures on council housing and council tenants are greater than ever before.
Right to Buy is reducing the number of homes available to Nottingham families in desperate housing need, welfare reform is causing hardship on our estates, the Bedroom Tax is still penalising people who are judged to have a spare room, and after the Grenfell
tragedy, the Government has so far refused to help us with the cost of installing sprinklers in our high-rise tower blocks.
We want your voice to be heard so that’s why we’re inviting Nottingham City Homes residents to a special event to discuss your thoughts on some of the key issues affecting council housing.
We'll use what you tell us to present your views to the Housing Minister, Alok Sharma MP.
There are two sessions to choose from and attendance is by registration only.
When: Thursday 16 November
Where: The Council House, Old Market Square, Nottingham
Session one: 10am arrival to 12.30pm (refreshments available after the meeting)
