The Tenant Academy is designed especially for you and your family, providing a valuable opportunity to grow your potential, and your neighbourhood.
We’re keen for the Tenant Academy to be as accessible as possible that’s why we aim to offer a wide variety of training and skills development opportunities in various community settings around the city.
Just pick any course you like and you can register for free – the choice is all yours. So, whether you want to develop new skills, do something just for fun, get qualifications or prepare for volunteering then the Nottingham City Homes Tenant Academy is here to help!

Understanding Mental Health
Thursday 17 July, 9.30am to 4.30pm, Nottingham City Homes, Harvey Road, Bilborough, NG8 3BB
This informative session will help those working in situations where they may encounter people with mental health issues and how to respond to them. This workshop is intended to provide those who are presented with behaviours they may be unfamiliar with, the knowledge and communication skills to effectively manage such situations. The focus of the course will be on identifying such behaviour and developing effective strategies to appropriately respond to them. Lunch is included.

Paediatric First Aid
Saturday 5 and 12 October - full attendance at both days required, Park Gate Community Centre, Chamberlain Close, Clifton, Nottingham, NG11 8RX
This 12 hour course focuses on emergency situations that face anyone who may be looking after infants and children. Content includes recovery position, action for vomiting, CPR, burns and scalds, choking and much more…
Practical face painting workshop
Wednesday 13 November, 10am to midday, The Training Station, Nottingham City Homes, Bilborough
Help bring fun and creativity to your community by learning to face paint. Through this hands-on session you’ll learn what equipment you need to get started, how to paint popular faces as well as lots of useful tips. This course is especially useful for those who are involved with community groups and events.
Women in Construction taster workshops
FREE women-led workshops exploring what it’s like to be a plumber, electrician, joiner, plasterer, gas engineer, painter and decorator, or bricklayer. There will be refreshments available throughout the full day workshops plus lunch will be provided.
