Creating homes and places where people want to live

Homes for Ukraine

We’ve all been profoundly affected by the war in Ukraine and the suffering and devastation the people of Ukraine are experiencing.

It’s predicted that 18 million people will be affected by the escalating conflict, and four million are expected to flee their homes as the war continues.

We want to play our part in helping those affected in any way we can. NCH colleagues have been making donations via members of staff who have friends and family directly affected by the conflict. We're also working with local partners to welcome Ukrainian families moving into our communities.

We fully support the Homes for Ukraine scheme and we’ll support you if you decide to offer to host those fleeing Ukraine.

The government has advised that any housing support should be available for a minimum of six months, and a £350 per month ‘thank you’ payment will be paid to you for as long as you sponsor a family for up to 12 months. Government advice also states that any existing benefits you claim will not be affected by this payment.

Please check government advice before proceeding, as it may be subject to change. You can read this here.

The government has also published some FAQs here.
